McKinnon, Modern Update Renovation

On our first site visit, client's home was suffering from successive add-on extensions which over time resulted in the floorplan not making sense. The kitchen had ended up in the middle of the house and was small and pokey without adequate storage. This home is in a prime position for school zones and the investment in a renovation that renewed outdated bathrooms and laundry, relocated a new kitchen as the heart of the home with an addition walk in pantry, lighting design, colour and material selections has given it a new lease of life in this prime property zone.

The floorplan has been reconfigured to provide better functionality by JT Design & Drafting. Our interior design services were engaged to design a new larger functional kitchen and pantry space, and provide our expertise in colour, materials and fitting selections providing the detail where everything works beautifully together.

The selection of a quality engineered timber floor was an important element to integrate the reconfigured floorplan and provides warmth to the interior scheme without it feeling sterile and cold. The material surfaces for the kitchen were selected to be durable for family living and easy clean with streamlined surfaces while being timeless and elegant. The designs also included updated streamlined bathroom spaces for Master ensuite, family bathroom, powder room and a family friendly functional laundry.

And the existing spaces also have received a fresh coat of paint in the new selected colour palette, new carpet and a beautiful, sustainably engineered timber flooring throughout that unifies the home style throughout.
